Telephone Triage Appointments

We have a new system in place were patients can book for a telephone triage appointment. This means that the receptionist will take your details inc your telephone number or the number you will like to be called back on so that the Doctor will give you a call and assess your health status. Once the Doctor has assessed you if need be bring you in later in the day to offer you a face to face consultation.

Appointments can be booked by telephoning the practice on 0333 332 2221 or by personal attendances. We aim to offer appointments within 48 hours for non-urgent matters. Emergencies are seen on the same day. Appointments are offered with either a particular doctor or the nurse and while the practice will try to accommodate patient preferences where possible, this is subject to availability of appointments.

Appointments can be booked from 8.00am on the same day on which an appointment is required.

Emergency appointments are allocated at the end of each doctors afternoon sessions where patients can be seen for a single urgent problem. These appointments are 10 minutes and are made at the discretion of the doctor.

Emergency calls

During the daytime, please telephone the practice and your message will be relayed to the doctor.

The Out of Hours service, i.e. evenings and weekends, you can call 111. This service is for urgent medical problems arising out of normal surgery hours and for emergency consultation only. 

Please think before you call. Please help the doctors and other patients by being considerate.

Extended hours

WF FedNet offer weekend and evening appointments 7 days a week. Appointments can be made by calling 0208 519 3999 during the following hours : Monday to Friday 12pm – 8pm Saturday to Sunday 8am – 6pm Please note that if your GP surgery is closed and you need urgent medical care please call 999 or alternatively call NHS 111 for medical help or advice which is not life threatening.

Training

As an approved training practice your appointment maybe with:
  • Registrars fully qualified doctors who spend four months per year with us prior to qualifying as a GP
  • Foundation doctors doctors who have just completed their hospital training and spend up to six months while they receive GP training from our doctors. You will be informed of this prior to your appointment.

Use of personal health information

The practice manages the confidentiality of your medical records in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998. Our Primary Care Trust may require some of this data for auditing and research purposes. You may request that your data is excluded from these audits and research at any time. Please speak with reception for more information.

Feedback

Our priority is to ensure that all of our patients receive the best service that is possible. We provide feedback forms in reception, please feel free to request one at any time. Just complete the form and return to reception.

NHS General Practice services are extremely busy as coronavirus infection rates continue to rise; however, we will continue to help you receive urgent and non-urgent medical care when you need it.

Most consultations are over the phone or via video link. This is to keep everyone safe, and most patients have found this to be very convenient.
Following the initial telephone or video consultation, if a face-to-face consultation is felt to be necessary, this will be arranged without delay.
You can also contact 111, day or night, for other urgent health advice – including concerns about Covid-19 symptoms.
Please remember that 999 and A&E are for emergencies only.
The practice offers extended hours GP service during the evenings and weekends.
