Private Patient Services

The Grove Medical Centre offers all its services on a private patient basis to those who are not registered at the Centre. The Centre has the state of the art technology to provide an efficient and up to date clinical service from its modern premises. 

The practice team consists of experienced doctors, practice nurses and an administrative team which looks after all the needs of all private patients. 

The practice offers the following services to private patients 

  1. A comprehensive range of general practice (primary care) medical services. 
  2. Acupuncture treatment. This is particularly helpful for chronic painful conditions, migraine and painful periods. 
  3. Minor surgery service including cryotherapy for warts, joint injections and excision of lumps and other skin lesions 
  4. Family Planning Service including prescribing of contraceptive tablets and injections, and the insertion of coils (IUCD). The practice also offers emergency contraceptive services. 
  5. Screening programme for sexually transmitted disease and cervical cancer. 
  6. Screening programme for heart attack and stroke. 
  7. Travel immunisation (vaccination) service including advice and prescriptions for specific travel medications.

NHS General Practice services are extremely busy as coronavirus infection rates continue to rise; however, we will continue to help you receive urgent and non-urgent medical care when you need it.

Most consultations are over the phone or via video link. This is to keep everyone safe, and most patients have found this to be very convenient.
Following the initial telephone or video consultation, if a face-to-face consultation is felt to be necessary, this will be arranged without delay.
You can also contact 111, day or night, for other urgent health advice – including concerns about Covid-19 symptoms.
Please remember that 999 and A&E are for emergencies only.
The practice offers extended hours GP service during the evenings and weekends.
